How it works
-
Add your website
Type its address, and the phone number customers should call. No logins, no plugin, nothing installed on your site.
-
We check it, then check again
That your website loads, every hour; everything else, every day. A problem has to show up twice before we tell you, so one slow minute never becomes an alarm.
-
You hear about it, and when it is fixed
One email when a problem is confirmed, with why it costs you customers and how to fix it. One more when it is gone, with how long it lasted.
What it checks
-
Website loads
Visitors reach your website, not an error page. We catch server and database errors, a site stuck in maintenance mode, a lapsed domain showing a parking page, and a homepage that suddenly sends visitors somewhere else. If your website is down, the alert comes once we have confirmed it.
-
Customers can reach you
Your phone number, contact form and booking links work. Your number has to be on the site exactly as you gave it, not an old line or a former agency’s tracking number.
-
No spam or hacked pages
Nobody has slipped spam links or pages into your website. Pharmacy, casino and loan spam, and links hidden from your visitors but not from Google.
-
Email reaches inboxes
Your domain is set up so the email you send is not treated as spam. We tell you if the records that prove your email is really yours go missing.
-
Domain stays registered
Your web address and email do not lapse at renewal time. We read the registry’s own record of when your domain expires, and warn you weeks ahead.
-
Software up to date
WordPress and its plugins carry the latest security fixes. On WordPress, we tell you which updates are waiting: the usual way into a small business’s site.
-
Checks of your own
Write down something that must stay true on your site (“the pricing page mentions 0% financing”) and we read that page every day and tell you when it stops being true.
-
Proof in a quiet month
Your dashboard shows every check we ran this month. A quiet inbox means we looked and nothing was wrong, and if part of your site cannot be checked, we say so.
Why it pays for itself
For a small business like a roofer, a dentist or a law firm, one customer is worth more than years of this. Tell your dashboard what an average job is worth to you and it shows exactly how many months of protection one saved job covers: your own number, divided, nothing more.
What it does not do
Website Guard never fills in or submits your contact form, so it does not send you fake enquiries: it checks everything the form depends on instead. It cannot see one part of email security (DKIM), which only your email provider can confirm. And it does not change your website: it tells you what broke and how to fix it.
